Poor mental health is now the number one reason for staff absence. Mental health training offers a cost-effective way to promote mental wellbeing in your organisation and at home. 

This 1/2 day course is suitable for those looking to understand and improve their knowledge and confidence about mental health. Attendees will learn the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing in the workplace.

Please be aware that this course focuses on employees in the workplace and covers subjects that some people may find distressing, including suicide and self-harm.

What you will learn

  • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Prerequisites

Delegates must be over 16 and will need to have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

End of course

Assessment: Delegates must complete a written test and take part in a scenario-based practical assessment.

Certification: On successful completion of this course each delegate will receive a Mental Health Aware certificate, valid for 3 years.
